Artist’s Statement:

I enjoy creating baskets using everyday materials to reveal how ordinary things can become interesting and eye-catching. My work reflects my interests in nature, color, recycling, weaving, and creating a three dimensional object.

For me, constructing a basket is an evolving process and a series of problem-solving challenges. Each basket begins with an idea or a concept. Then, I make plans and see where those plans take me. I enjoy the interplay between weaving that is, at times, controlled and weaving that is sometimes a surprise.
